Rusthall maintained their unbeaten
start to their British Energy Kent County Premier League campaign with a
2-0 victory over Snodland at Nellington Road on Saturday, writes Stephen
McCartney.
In front of a healthy crowd of 129, goals from Andy Myles and Martin
Millins secured the victory for the Tunbridge Wells based outfit.
The Rustics came out full of confidence for the
game, having secured a 2-2 draw at Stansfeld Oxford & Bermondsey Club
on the opening day of the season.
Although both teams had chances the score remained goalless at the break
However, the Rustics change formation in the second half and played with
three at the back and five across midfield, and this had an instant impact
as they took control and began to play some good football.
It wasn't long before Perkins put across a good ball for Myles to slot
home.
Snodland, however, reacted and pushed men forward searching for the
equaliser. This, however, left large gaps in their defence, which
Millins exploited when he was put through and with only the goalkeeper to
beat he kept his composure and slotted home.
Lydd Town are the visitors to Nellington Road on Saturday (2:45pm).
