Terry Cordice is eyeing a crack at a Kent League side after catching cup fever with back-to-back wins at Salters Lane.

Cordice looked on with pride as Faversham Town saw off Borden Village 6-1 in the Floodlit Cup on Wednesday last week.

A 5-2 success over Uniflo in the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup followed on Saturday and now boss Cordice is looking forward to another knockout contest a week on Saturday.

That is when Faversham travel to Cray Valley in the Kent Senior Trophy and the winners will stand a good chance of drawing Kent League opponents.

Cordice said: "People think of cup games as being a nice day out for the players and fans, especially if you are lucky enough to get to a final.

"But the Kent Senior Trophy really is a big thing for us. This is the competition involving all the Kent League clubs.

"We got a bye in the first round and if we win against Cray Valley
, I believe that we could play either Herne Bay or Whitstable Town.

"Now that would be great for us. We played both of these sides pre-season but we are more experienced now - we have a more settled side - so who knows what might happen?

"These are the kind of games we really want to be involved in. That's the level we have to aim for."

Cordice, whose side are without a game this week, was pleased to see his side come through against a competitive Uniflo side on Saturday.

He said: "We made hard work of it. They were a physical side, very much like Milton.

"They weren't afraid to put a foot in and I thought they could've had a couple sent off. As it was, just the one was red carded.

"I don't think the result was ever in danger. We ground out another win. We were in control of the game - we just needed the fourth goal although their fella going off did help."
