Ryman League Cup First Round News

Cray Wanderers have been handed a bye into the second round of this season's Ryman League Cup, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Ryman Football League have announced the first round draw of their league cup competition and the draw has mainly been kind to our Kent sides.

Ashford Town were the only Kent club to be drawn away from home, and will travel to second division side, Wembley.

Dover Athletic and Tonbridge Angels also face second division opposition, albeit on home soil, against Ware and Clapton respectively.

But Ryman League newcomers, Ramsgate, face division one rivals Newport IOW, but at least Jim Ward's side play the Islanders at Southwood Stadium.

Premier Division sides, Bromley, Fisher Athletic, Folkestone Invicta and Margate are spared and embark on the competition at a later stage.
