Cordice threatens to bring in fresh talent

Terry Cordice reflected on his first point as Faversham Town boss and revealed: "I wish we had a game this Saturday."

Cordice looked on in frustration as Faversham Town saw champions Cray Valley open up a two-lead lead at Salters Lane on Saturday.

But a double strike on debut from on-loan Ramsgate striker Graham Taylor earned Faversham Town a well-deserved 2-2 draw in front of another good crowd of 205.

Faversham are without a game this week and Cordice is cursing his luck because he is desperate to see his side move up another gear and secure a first win for the re-born club.

He said: "The lads did well to come back but they are gutted all the same.  They know that this was a game they should have won.

"I am just disappointed that we don't have a game this week because we played well in spells today.  We were the better side without doubt.

"It was 100% better than last week.  Mind you, we couldn't have played any worse (lost 3-2 to Milton Athletic).  Things had to improve and they did improve but we are still not where we want to be.

"We didn't deserve to lose the game today yet we put ourselves in danger because of silly mistakes at the back.  It could have cost us again.

"Their first goal killed us and we went missing for a while after that.

"But we showed alot of character to come back from 2-0 down the way we did.

"I thought they scored their goals against the run of play.  We have given them their goals and I'm not happy about that.

"I am convinced that if we had scored first we would have gone on to win the game."

Cordice was thrilled with the performance of new boy Graham Taylor who has signed Kent County League forms with Faversham Town despite playing for Ryman League Ramsgate.

He said: "I know Ramsgate boss Jim Ward pretty well and he has something like seven forwards to choose from down there so I got in touch about Graham.

"He is a player with alot of ability who I have worked with before.  I have an agreement with Jim to keep him for a month, but I am hoping that he enjoys his time with us and wants to stay.

"There are alot of players out there who would love to play for this club and I can get them if needed.

"I have great faith in the boys here and want them to succeed but, as we all know, this game is all about results.

"So if I need a player and can get the right man, then I will go out and sign them."
