Devenish breaks club record
GEORGE Devenish broke a long-standing club record for Horsmonden Sports as
he scored EIGHT times for their reserves in their 12-1 Tonbridge Football League
Division three defeat of Brenchley Wanderers reserves, writes Andrew Newman.
Vice-president Eric Barham had set the previous best at seven, but a golden
spell of six goals inside 20 minutes put Devenish on the way of beating the
record.
He added another two and ensured that his side remain firm favourites for the
title. Steve Jenkins chipped in with a hat-trick and Frazer Glasscoe
scored once but Devenish grabbed the headlines with his prolific performance.
