Parker busy in transfer market

Paul Parker, manager of Nationwide Conference South club Welling United, has made his third signing inside a week with the acquisition of defender Matthew Lee from Conference National neighbours Gravesend & Northfleet.

Twenty-five-year-old Lee has joined the growing Welling squad on a one-year contract.

Lee began his career as a YTS player at Premiership Charlton Athletic and has had two spells at The Fleet separated by a spell at Sutton United.

Wings boss Paul Parker commented: “Matt is a versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back four, but is a fine full-back, preferring the left-hand side."

Lee follows Chelmsford City duo George Lay and Gareth Street into Park View Road in the past week or so.
