New signings inspire Welling to victory

Paul Parker, manager of Nationwide South club Welling United, added to loan signings Jamie Gould and Kevin Hemsley by acquiring the services of three more new players.

Darren Randolph, a 17-year-old Charlton Athletic Academy goalkeeper, joined on a non-contract basis in time for Tuesday night’s win at Eastbourne Borough.

The Republic of Ireland under-19 international has come on board with a fine reputation and is sure to gain valuable experience in a defence that had conceded 26 goals before keeping a clean sheet against Eastbourne.

Randolph is highly-rated at The Valley and is known for his agility and shot stopping abilities.

Kevin Watson is employed full-time at Charlton, where he originally played in the youth Academy.

He has played at Ryman League Premier Division Chelmsford City this season following spells at Carshalton Athletic and Team Bath.

The 23-year-old defender has represented a British Universities XI and can play anywhere across the back four. He joins on a non-contract basis.

Narada Bernard has also joined on non-contract terms and has played for Tottenham, Arsenal, AFC Bournemouth and more recently Conference National side Woking.

Bernard scored on his debut against Bognor Regis Town and the 23-year-old has fitted well into the left back position as cover for Ian Wiles.

They join Crawley Town defender and Stevenage Borough midfielder Jamie Gould, who have both joined on loan for a month, at Park View Road.
