Dons sign former Whites stopper

Dave Anderson, manager of Ryman League Division One leaders AFC Wimbledon, has brought French goalkeeper Dominique Jean-Zepherin to the club as cover for the goalkeeping position, reports www.nonleaguedaily.com

Zepherin first appeared for Hampton & Richmond Borough after moving to this country and has since played for Slough Town and Lewes and was at Dover Athletic until recently.

Anderson explained: “We’ve brought Dominique in as cover for the next six weeks. That’s not to say he’ll play necessarily, but with Danny Naisbitt injured it’s good to have some experience to call on. He played at Lewes when they won promotion last season and has been at Slough, so we know he knows what this level is about. I’ve been trying very hard to bring some cover in, so this is a good arrangement for us.

“I had a chat with Paul Smith at training last night and he has been guaranteed at least the next two games. He did ever so well at Dover and the way he handled himself spoke volumes for his ability and his character, but I don’t think it’s fair on a 20-year-old to expect him to play twelve games in a row necessarily. So we’ll take it a game at a time and see how things progress.”
