Cordice set to delve into transfer market

Terry Cordice has warned his Faversham Town players that there is a limit to his patience and he WILL bring in new faces if results do not improve.

Cordice looked on in frustration as fellow strugglers Crockenhill came from behind to win a game Faversham Town dominated at Wested Meadow on Saturday.

Julian Beal put the visitors ahead on 10 minutes but goals from Scott Paczensky  and Stuart Nicholson wrecked Cordice's hopes of a first victory.

Faversham now lie third to bottom of the British Energy Kent County League's Premier Division with just one point from three games.

It is not the start that Cordice and his assistant Peter Holder had expected from a side they believe is good enough to win promotion at the first attempt.

Cordice insists they just need a bit more rub of the green for results to go their way but accepts he could well end up dipping into the transfer market.

He said: "It is not panic stations just yet but the players do know how Peter and I feel about the results.

"With a little bit of luck we would have won with ease on Saturday. Just like the 2-2 draw with Cray Valley, I thought we were the better side and should have won.

"We made two silly errors for the goals at Crockenhill but it is the finishing which is more of a problem.

"We created so many chances but couldn't get a second goal. If we'd have done that I'm confident we'd have won by four or five.

"We want the lads to prove themselves by turning it around but we cannot afford to give them too much time.

"There is a very real possibility that we will have to sign new players and it's clear I could do with a forward. We really need to find someone to take advantage of these chances we are creating.

"There is a little bit missing at times and we would obviously benefit from a natural goalscorer."

Faversham Town were without on-loan striker Graham Taylor whose two-goal heroics ensured a share of the spoils against Cray Valley.

But Cordice is hoping the hitman will be available for Saturday's visit of Snodland, who lie second to bottom - one place below Faversham Town on goal difference.

Cordice explained: "Unfortunately for us, Graham was recalled by Ramsgate. They have seven forwards down there but four are injured so it's no surprise they wanted him back.

"I am hoping that he will be available for us at the weekend. I am speaking to him later in the week. The good news is that he does enjoy playing for us and wants to be involved when Ramsgate allow him to do so."

Faversham will definitely be without midfielder Stuart Smith both on Saturday and for the next five weeks due to a suspension he picked up last season.
